Veena Shiringi

Veena Shiringi, born on 16 February 1948 in Larkana, Sind [Pakistan], is a graduate and a distinguished senior broadcaster, producer, and translator with All India Radio, New Delhi. She has represented Sindhi culture at international Sindhi Congress seminars in the USA and London and has served as a member of the National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. As an AIR broadcaster, she has interviewed eminent personalities, including former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, and has also contributed as an actor, journalist, and media professional.

Belonging to the post-Partition generation of Sindhi writers, Ms. Shiringi is a prominent literary figure with 11 published books spanning stories, short plays, essays, poetic prose, and travelogues. She is an active voice in the Sindhi women’s movement and serves as General Secretary of “Maruee,” an organization dedicated to promoting socio-cultural awareness and empowerment among Sindhi women.

  3. Kuchan Taan Kafar [If I open my mouth, I will be labeled as heretic], Travelogue on Sind.

Also she has published Pann Sunjaanij Supreen [Know Thyself My Dear] based on papers ["Role of Sindhi women in freedom struggle and progress of our country"].
