Sunder Bhagwandas Butani
Sunder Bhagwandas Butani was born on 27 September 1933 in Karachi, Sind [Pakistan]. A graduate in Arts [B.A.] and a retired Central Government employee, he later settled in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He emerged as one of the prominent dramatists of the elder generation and was among the early contributors to Sindhi theatre from the Vidarbha region.
A versatile and multilingual theatre personality, he has produced and acted in both Sindhi and Hindi plays, earning recognition at local as well as national levels. In addition to acting and direction, he also distinguished himself as a poet and literary critic. His notable plays include Yaad Kanda, Suri-a-Saad Kayo, Hik Ajeeb Dastan, and Heeu Pyaso Muhinjo Mun. For his contributions as a director, scriptwriter, and actor, he received several awards and laurels from various organizations.
