Sunder Agnani

Sunder Agnani, born on 1 October 1936 in Bhiria, Sind [Pakistan], is a B.A., R.D.S. [Hons.] and a Jaipur-based garment exporter with an outstanding parallel career in Sindhi literature. He has contributed nearly 375 short stories, one-act plays, essays, and articles to leading Sindhi publications. He has held several prestigious positions, including Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Rajasthan Sindhi Academy, Advisor to the Central Sahitya Akademi, and President of the Akhil Bharat Sindhi Boli Ain Sahit Sabha.

A versatile “five-in-one” creative personality-short story writer, dramatist, artist, cartoonist, and cultural organizer-Sunder Agnani has nine books to his credit. Sindhi drama is his forte, with his acclaimed play Ishtahari Shaadi earning national recognition at the All-India Sindhi Drama Festival. Widely regarded as the leading Sindhi cartoonist of his time, he has significantly enhanced the stature of Sindhi literary and cultural institutions through his leadership and creative excellence.

Currently he is the leading cartoonist in Sindhi.

He was unanimously elected the President of Akhil Bharat Sindhi Boli Ain Sahit Sabha, the premier organisation of Sindhi writers, artists, dramatists, scholars and journalist. He has added so much to the prestige of Sabha through literary and cultural events of importance.
