Relwani Jayant Jiwatram was born on 3 September 1936 in Larkana, Sind [Pakistan]. Educated up to S.Y.B.A., he is a retired railway employee and resides in Shastrinagar, Rajkot, Gujarat.

A noted bilingual writer, he writes fluently in both Sindhi and Gujarati, making a unique contribution through translations between the two languages. A respected columnist, short story writer, essayist, novelist, and journalist, he has edited the monthly Sindhi Sahitya and the fortnightly Gurjar Sindhu, fostering literary exchange between Sindhi and Gujarati readers.
