Ramkrishin Hirnand Advani

Ramkrishin Hirnand Advani was born on 10 July 1924 in Hyderabad, Sind [Pakistan]. A graduate in Arts [B.A.], he later settled in Mumbai at Worli. He is regarded as one of the senior-most living Sindhi journalists, with a career that began in Sind itself and continued with dedication over several decades.

An all-rounder in journalism, he has written with equal ease on literary, cultural, social, and film-related subjects, though his most notable contributions have been in film and cultural reporting. Widely known by his pen name "Rahi", his weekly cultural column on the back cover of Hindvasi became a major attraction for readers. Through his insightful and encouraging articles, he played a significant role in energizing and promoting Sindhi drama and cultural activities in Mumbai.

  3. Rahi is perhaps the oldest living Sindhi Journalist and has made significant contributions in the filed of journalism.

Rahi received several Honours / Awards as Best Journalist. The most significant amongst them are:

  2. Award as Best Journalist, 1990 (At Mumbai by International Sindhi Panchayat Federation).
  3. Award as Best Journalist, 2000 (At Mumbai by Murk Publication in remembrance of famous Bhagwanti Navani and Pushpa Malhi).

Rahi encouraged Sindhi Artists and brought their talent to lime light. He was one of protagonist of Sindhi drama and helped founding quite a few Sindhi dramatic societies including Kala Vikas and Sindhu Kala Mandir. He also helped formation of socio-cultural organisation, like Priyadarshini Academy and Sahyog Foundation etc.
