Narayan Paryani was born on 1 October 1932 in Kamber, District Larkana, Sind [Pakistan]. He holds postgraduate and doctoral degrees [M.A., Ph.D.] and has been residing in Ulhasnagar. An academician and litterateur, he has earned recognition for his scholarly contributions as well as his commitment to Sindhi language and culture.

Widely known by his pen name Narayan Bharati, he demonstrated that even a small-town publication, when managed with vision and dedication, can achieve national recognition. A noted folklorist, story writer, and journalist, he painstakingly built the weekly Sindhi Times and has successfully steered it for over four decades through numerous challenges. Blending news with literature, the paper reflects his investigative acumen, evident in many revealing reports published in Sindhi Times and under the pseudonym Gashti Khatu in Hindustan.
