Lachman Bhambhani

Lachman Bhambhani was born on 17 November 1938 in Nawabshah, Sind [Pakistan], and later settled in Jaipur. A graduate by education, he served the Government of Rajasthan and retired as an officer. He emerged as a key figure in Sindhi literary circles in Jaipur and was one of the trio, along with Sunder Agnani and Vasdev Sindhu Bharati, who initiated the Sindhyat movement and launched the monthly literary magazine Suhini, of which he remained co-editor for over a decade.

A versatile writer and performer, Lachman Bhambhani has more than half a dozen titles to his credit, including short stories, satirical essays, novels, and children’s books. Deeply interested in theatre, he has acted in over 30 stage plays and 25 television and radio productions. He has received several awards from leading cultural institutions and continues to play an active role in the Sindhi movement as General Secretary of the Akhil Bharat Sindhi Boli Ain Sahit Sabha.
