Late Khialdas Valiram Begwani
Late Khialdas Valiram Begwani, popularly known as Fani, was born on 4 April 1914 in Miya Sahib Jo Goth, Shikarpur, Sind [Pakistan]. An M.A. in English, he settled in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and served as a lecturer before retiring. He also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Sindhi Sahitya Academy and was a renowned stage artiste and approved AIR singer. Fani passed away in April 1995.
A prominent and established poet of the Sindhi community, Fani was recognized as an Ustaad poet, well-versed in poetic techniques and prosody. His works, including Sik, Soz, & Saaz, Khizaan-jee-Khusboo, and Samoondee Leharoon, inspired many, including the legendary poet Shaikh Ayaz. His immortal poems, such as Munhija Watan Dildar Watan and Munhinje Maarun Ji Oh Kaanga Lanvu Ka Laat, continue to celebrate the essence of Sindhi literature.
