Mrs. Kala Moti Prakash
Mrs. Kala Moti Prakash was born on 2 January 1934 in Karachi, Sind [Pakistan]. She holds an M.A. degree and served as a Lecturer before retiring. She resides at B-33, Aram Co-operative Housing Society, Vakola, Santacruz [East], Mumbai.
A prominent writer of Sindhi fiction, she is especially known for her short stories and novels, and occasionally for her emotive poetic prose. Her significant contribution to Sindhi literature earned her several honours, including the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 1994 for her novel Arsi-a-Ado. Deeply devoted to the Sindhi language, she also taught Sindhi at a college in Ulhasnagar.
