Jagdish Sobhraj Lachhani
Dr. Jagdish Sobhraj Lachhani was born on 4 December 1939 in Pir-jo-Goth, Sind [Pakistan]. He holds M.A. degrees in Hindi and Sindhi, an M.Phil., and a Ph.D. awarded in 2001. He served as Principal of D.T. Kalani College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Ulhasnagar, and has been deeply involved in college theatre, writing and directing numerous dramas.
A distinguished writer and educationist, Dr. Lachhani has authored over 18 books, specializing in literary criticism and children’s literature, earning several awards for his work including Sahitya Jee Parakh. He has also written seven video scripts and contributed articles in Hindi to reputed magazines like Dharmayug, Nav Bharat Times, and Jansatta, completing a remarkable 39-year teaching career with dedication.
