Ishwari Topandas Jotwani
Ishwari Topandas Jotwani was born on 11 November 1930 in Sewhan, Sind [Pakistan]. She holds a B.A. [Hons.] and an M.A., and served as a lecturer in Sindhi at St. Mira College, Pune. She resides at Shanti Kunj, Pune, and has also been the President of the Sindhi Sahitya Sabha, Pune.
A respected Sindhi writer, she has authored novels, short stories, essays, and travelogues. A former freedom fighter imprisoned during the 1942 Quit India movement in Sind, she dedicated much of her life to teaching Sindhi, serving as Chairperson of the Board of Studies at Pune University and as a member of the Board of Studies at Mumbai University.
