Hiro Thakur
Hiro Thakur, born on 2 March 1943 in Hyderabad, Sindh [Pakistan], is a distinguished poet, journalist, and research scholar. He holds a B.A. [Hons.] and the Rashtrabhasha Ratna, and has served with All India Radio, New Delhi, since 1967 as Incharge of the Sindhi News Section. He has also worked as a parliamentary correspondent for the Hindustan Sindhi Daily of Mumbai.
An eminent contributor to Sindhi literature, he has written over 200 poems and served on various Central Sahitya Akademi panels. His acclaimed research on the 16th-century poet Qazi Qadan, including the book Qazi Qadan Jo Kalam released in 1978, has earned him national and international recognition and honors.
