Goverdhan Namdev Sharma
Goverdhan Namdev Sharma, popularly known by the title ‘Ghayal’, was born on 01 December 1937 in Mehar, Sind (Pakistan). He holds an M.A. degree and a Shikshaka Sanad. He resides at Flat No. 1, Sadichchha Apartments, Deccan College Road, Yerwada, Pune – 411006. He retired as Head of the Department of Hindi from the Indian High School, Dubai (U.A.E.).
He is recognised as a noted poet of the Sindhi community and is fully conversant with the techniques of Sindhi poetry. He is essentially a lyricist.
He is a freelance journalist associated with several Sindhi, Hindi, and English newspapers and magazines. He has organised and participated in national Sindhi seminars and mushairas, contributing actively to Sindhi literary and cultural life.
